Handwashing
Material needed:
Liquid soap in a pump
Paper towel
Warm running water
Wastebasket
Hand lotion, if desired
Procedure:
Gather all the above material at the sink
Remove your wrist watch or push up above your forearm
Stand back from the sink, so you do not get your cloths wet
Turn on faucet, and adjust to a comfortable temperature
Completely wet hands and wrist under running water, while keeping your hands pointed down towards the sink
Apply soap to hands
Lather hands well by rubbing the palms together. Spread over the entire area of your hands and wrist that are wet, making sure you get soap under the fingernails and between the fingers
Use a rotating and rubbing motion for 30 seconds
Wash at least 2 inches above your wrist
Rinse well under the running water, one hand at a time. Rinse from two inches above the wrist while keeping hands and fingers below the elbow so the water runs downward directly into the sink
Dry our hands and wrist with a paper towel
Drop used paper towels into the wastebasket
Turn off faucets using another dry paper towel and then discard
